Martin is responsible for the strategic development of tangerine, creating new business opportunities and giving direction to design. Time is equally divided between internal and external facing roles.
Before founding tangerine, Martin joined Moggridge Associates and worked in San Francisco at ID TWO (now IDEO). For over twenty years Martin has had extensive hands-on experience of consumer insight research, innovation strategy and design in all the major industry sectors.
Most notably Martin led the multi-disciplinary team that created the new 'Club World' business class aircraft seating for British Airways. This created the World's first fully flat bed in business class. Launched in 2000 it is still the profit engine of the business.
By the very nature of the business, Martin spends much of his time travelling to key areas in the Far East, the USA and Europe. However, Martin remains in daily contact with the various tangerine teams in Seoul and London.
Despite his increasing need to be "on the road" Martin still finds time to devote part of his energies to organisations outside tangerine.
Most recent extra curricular activities include:
2005 Appointed advisor to Chairman of Design Council on behalf of Design Business Association
