Sindoh 3D printer wins Red Dot Award 2016

We are thrilled to announce that tangerine’s design for Sindoh 3DWOX has won at the Red Dot Awards 2016, the international distinction for high design quality. This year participants from 57 nations registered around 5,200 products and innovations for the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2016. Only products which set themselves apart through design excellence received the sought-after quality seal from the 41 strong international Red Dot jury.

For Sindoh’s first foray into the 3D printer market, the design team thought carefully about ways to improve the user experience and build upon the unique brand identity & design language that tangerine has established for the company.

The 3WOX has a potent mix of cutting edge technology, wide ranging functionality and stylish user-orientated design, delivering an affordable premium 3D printer that is a pleasure to use. The elegant enclosed structure maintains a consistent temperature for high quality printing. All of the moving parts are safely enclosed for safe operation and noise reduction.  The controls, access panels and internal machinery are arranged ergonomically. For ease of use, an auto-loading filament enables an effortless changing operation and is conveniently accessed through the front door panel. As all operations can be performed by a user front on, the printer can be stored in a smaller space, nestling neatly amongst other office and household equipment. A 5” full touch graphic interface allows users intuitive navigation. Assisted bed levelling ensures an accurate and consistent print, automatically calculating and displaying onscreen instruction to help users make adjustments. An internal monitoring camera allows users to check the progress of their prints day or night. The LED lit printing compartment can be viewed remotely, in real time, from a computer or smart device via an app.

tangerine’s collaboration with Sindoh is the latest success in the two companies design strategy and management partnership, having previously won a Red Dot Gold Award in 2011 for the Korean companies first series of  “Sindoh” branded printers. Following a successful international launch, tangerine has continued to support Sindoh’s transformation into an internationally recognised consumer brand, having enjoyed a long history as a successful OEM.
